In early May 2023, I saw a highline for the first time in my life and I was amazed. So high up, balancing on a narrow line, walking, jumping, and staying calm. Could this extreme sport take you even further than climbing?
After returning from Spain, I discovered that there’s a highline community here in Germany too, though most of the time, the lines aren’t rigged between cliffs, but between trees or buildings, right in the middle of the city. Urban highlines.
Since then, I’ve been bringing my camera along to capture this small but vibrant niche.
